Emperor of Dreams is a game of the future. In some ways, it's more of an art installation than a game, due to the fact that half of the technology used is still far from actual production. EoD is an immersive first person VR game in which the player wakes up in a strange world where they have the ability to control things with their mind.
EoD make use of the HTC Vive headset and controller peripherals to immerse the player in the game world and give them the ability to interact with their hands and freely move about in the space. Additionally, the installation includes an omnidirectional treadmill to enable the player to walk within the game. The most revolutionary aspect of EoD is the use of the Emotiv Epoc, a non-invasive brain computer interface that allows communication between the player and the game through pure thought.
A red sun on a sapphire sky tears you from your slumber. You're in a barren wasteland and the heat is punishing. You look up and dodge out of the way as a giant dragon descends on you. You try to get away or defend yourself, but the dragon overpowers you. In the last second, as the dragon is already upon you, you notice a boulder perched atop a cliff above you. In a final bid, you imagine pushing the boulder off to kill the dragon. The boulder falls. You have discovered that in this world, you have psychic powers. As you get to your feet, you see a wide landscape unfurling beneath you. There are mountains and forest, bird-like creatures circling above. In the distance, you see a metropolis of a city, skyscrapers with vehicles zipping between them. You begin your journey.
In EoD, the player embarks on an epic journey through a world that is a perfect blend of fantasy and sci-fi. During their travels, they unearth the mysteries of this world and gain new incredible powers that are used by the power of thought alone via the Emotiv Epoc interface. The player can learn and develop their skills in telekinesis, pyrokinesis, ESP, telepathy, teleportation, levitation and even close range time travel.After playing this game, you will be trying to pick things up with your mind wherever you go.
