You are a "good boy" as referred to by your owner, otherwise, you're a guard dog on a leash. In this 2d, restricted plat-former-type game game, you play as a guard dog, outside of your owners house, left to defend against any unwanted visitors, with the restriction of your leash. The view of the game is from the front of the house and it is visible to see your own property, plus a little more on either side. You must make sure that no burglars break into the house but you must make sure that you don't scare any mailmen or family members away. To achieve this, you can move through-out the properties front/back lawn and can observe past the fences by using a 'sniff' ability that will reveal any person within a certain radius of where the ability was used. Different rounds will be represented as 'days' and as the days get higher, the amount of people that will be visiting the property will increase ultimately also increasing the difficulty. You will gain points depending on how many days you've lasted and how accurate your decisions have been regarding correctly identifying innocent visitors. You lose the game once a burglar has entered the house.
