That half-assed parity song about my country still amuses me. Probably more than it really should.
Anyway, most of my day was spent feeling super American (even though it was only Independence Day Eve). Concerts in the park with patriotic music, fireworks exploding, cannons being shot. It was all there.
The above left no time to boot my computer. However, I did do some quality thinking about my cloud save situation. Tomorrow (hopefully) I'll have at least a little time to implement my latest idea. Essentially, MERGE ALL THE THINGS! I plan on writing a custom conflict resolution function that will simply take two saves and create a superset of save out of them. Simply run through the progress of each level and take the best score from whatever save has it. In addition to cloud savings, after every level I'll squirrel away a local save as well. When the game launches and loads, I'll read the cloud save, manually address a conflict, if one pops up, and then merge the local save into the mix. If the cloud save is botched, the local save ought to better ensure that progress isn't lost. Granted, it won't really do much to sync across devices, or protect the player if he deletes his game, but, it's better than nothing.
Bonus: The symphony busted out several Star Wars tunes. Because, hey, you can't perform a symphony concert without busting out some John Williams.
