Rain man is a first person game, in which the player controls the embodiment of the earth in the form of an ethereal human with many otherworldly powers. The apocalypse has passed, and humankind has driven themselves and all terrestrial life on the planet to extinction. The surface of the earth is now barren and it's up to you, the Rain Man, to breathe new life onto the earth and mould it in your image. You are not entirely godlike, you can only be in one place at a time. The world is also a hostile place, and you can still die if you get yourself into danger. You can however cause the sky above you to turn into localised rain storms, drenching the land with fresh water that you may then turn into grass and trees. You can channel your energy to erode mountains and shape rivers, or raise the earth up towards the sky. But as you create, you also destroy yourself. Your strength is slowly sapped as you create new life, and so you must learn the way to rebuild humanity without draining you of your existence entirely.

The Forest King is a real time strategy game, in which the player is in control of a faction modelled after the spirit of the earth/gaia/mother nature etc... and must beat back human colonisation before the planet is destroyed. Given that the course of nature is a slow one, the game implements time warping for speeding up long sections in which the player must wait for certain effects to take hold. The player controls a forest faction, and can affect the course of human expansion by growing out networks of roots deep underground, growing noxious flowers, channelling water to flow a certain way etc... and once the player has decided on a course of action, they can then speed up time and watch the effects of these actions on the computer player who represents human expansion. The objective of the game is to take back human expansion to an acceptable level by a certain timeframe on each map and build strong structures that humanity cannot overcome and must therefore accept.
