Hunting Eagle is a flight simulator styled game in which the character is an eagle and must hunt for food for sustenance and fight against other birds to stay alive. Controls are modelled off of the standard models for most flight simulators (control of pitch, roll and yaw) and lift is generated by the player flapping their wings, although this will drain the player's energy (moreso if they are injured or carrying prey in their talons or beak.) The player avatar has excellent eyesight and thus can zoom in and spot prey from a great height. Depending on the type of prey, the player has several options on how they can attack. The first option is to dive down and simply fight the prey with its beak and talons until one of them dies, the second is to take the prey up in its talons and lift it high into the air, and upon reaching a great height it can release the prey thus dropping it to the ground and killing or wounding it (especially helpful for armoured targets such as turtles etc...) The game is designed around a sandbox style of gameplay, with no objective so to speak of other than staying alive and engaging with the large world. Time warping takes place when the player avatar needs to sleep, and injuries will also be healed over this time. The game can be saved and loaded, and if a player dies they may reload from a previous save.
