Quake!

This game is a 2D platformer based inside a house or building of some kind. The player is woken from his sleep by an earthquake that is shaking his house causing it to collapse! The objective of the game is for the player to survive the earthquake. This can be achieved by building a rag-tag shelter that can withstand falling bits of the building as it begins to collapse around you.

The earthquake will only last a few minutes but it grows in strength the longer it lasts. The player must rush around quickly in the early stages of the game grabbing items like duct-tape, a hammer, PVA glue and other household items and use them to build a bunker out of tables, bits of wall, pillows, metal plates etc... And then must hold out in it until the earthquake subsides. The player can repair parts of the shelter but if it breaks and he gets crushed its game over.

Different types of items are found in their respective rooms (kitchen items in kitchen, car parts and stuff in the garage, tables and chairs in the dining room) and doors to different rooms may be locked and have to be unlocked or broken into. Because the building is collapsing, if the player builds near the top of the house he has a much higher chance of dying straight away by falling through the floor so it is much safer to build on ground floor. However because each house is randomly generated the player will first have to explore the house to find different rooms, then get the stuff he needs and bring it someplace safe, then build a shelter all while the house around him is falling down. If the player survives earthquake then a new house is randomly generated and the player can play again.

Below are some examples of what the randomly generated houses may look like.
