Win the Crowd

This is a game designed for the X-box Kinect or a similar motion sensor device. The player plays the role of an unpopular Caesar during a week of Roman gladiatorial games. This is his last chance to gain back the love of the people by presenting the greatest gladiatorial games the world has ever seen. The aim of the game is to entertain the crowd as much as possible so that by the end of the games the player will be loved again by the people.

The player sees the arena from a third person camera angle of Caesar in his booth. The player has a good view of the crowd around him and along the arena walls as well as the arena floor. This is done by using hand and body gestures to control the flow of the bloody games. Decide who lives and who dies (thumbs up, thumbs down); release the lions (sweeping forward arm motion), point out a particular gladiator that you want killed (prolonged point), or send in slaves to be slaughtered in the dozens (other sweeping arm motion).

The player must pay attention to the crowd to do what it takes to please them. Some may call for blood while others may want mercy. The player will have to try to keep the fights entertaining. He may receive tips in-between days from his advisers with useful information about what the crowd might want.

The players is scored at the end based on the happiness of the crowd. If the gladiatorial games fail to please the people then the player has lost the game.

The players view of the collesium may look similar to the picture attached...
