Ahoy! is a third person platformer similar to the likes of Donkey Kong 64. The player would take control of Captain Shortbeard, who has had his parrot Squawk stolen by his rival Captain Breadbeard. The player would be tasked with getting Squawk back by finding special gems to bribe Captain Breadbeard to give the parrot back. In order to find these gems the player would visit several islands, and fight bosses based on four Hawaiian Tiki gods - Ku, the god of war, Lono, the god of peace, Kane, the god of light, and Kanaloa, the god of the sea. After defeating the boss the player would be given a specific gem, which would add to their overall counter and in turn their progress through the game. The player would be required to sail between the islands, and would be able to attempt them in any order they choose. The game would be on the Wii U, and use the gamepad to display a map of the world and the player's inventory, which would include the number of gems they have.
