In Third World Esports Tycoon your goal is to start from the ground up and become one of the best esports players in the world. You can choose from a wide range of games to play, and each will come with it's own twists and turns. The player will be required to ensure their character gets enough sleep and food, as if they don't their performance will fall. If the character doesn't get enough sleep they run the risk of sleeping in, meaning that they could miss the games they are scheduled to play in. The player must also train their character in their game of choice in order to increase their skill. This can be done until their skill ceiling is reached, at which time the player will need to upgrade their character's computer. The character will start with a horrible computer, which barely gets 20 fps in their game of choice. This can then be upgraded to a beast of a computer with almost unlimited power, increasing the skill ceiling every step along the way.

The game will have many different locations, beginning with a small hut in which the player's character lives in the beginning of the game. By the end of the game, the character will be living in a large team house, and travelling all around the world to attend tournaments. The player will also need to keep good relationships with their character's team mates as otherwise their character will become unhappy and perform worse, possibly resulting in being kicked from the team.
