A submission by Ashly for Daily Art Club

I don't know how y'all (seemingly) stay so consistent with your effort. I put in a good effort two days in a row and I'm wrecked and post something like this.

I'm taking my shyness to the grave!

Stick figures are great! I've been using them for every referenced and imagined drawing since I was a kid, which probably explains the relaxed, loose look. They're a part of drawing I experiment with a lot, trying to find the right shapes for each part. I figure if I get a good believable start to a drawing, I have a better chance at a good finish.

And I imagine it's a bigger task for you! I only ever draw people, so I really only need to nail down one kinda stick figure. It ~~is~~ really fun on the rare occasions I get to draw one for a horse or dragon or whatever, though.

Thanks! I guess I've been getting better at drawing from photos, but I think I should be spending more time drawing my own animals, with stick figures and such. I like how your drawings look so relaxed, by the way. I should aim for relaxed myself :)

And just so you know: there's no need to be shy, I'm not the kind of person that gets offended by compliments :-D

Ha! I agree, it's a fine stick figure! I'll probably use it this week!!! But I only spent five minutes on it. If that. How do you keep putting out a cool well-done animal every day???? It's a mystery!!

(Btw, I really love that owl from yesterday, but I was too shy to say so because I worry about commenting too often. But while I'm here, it's probably my favorite drawing of yours. It's super duper great.)

I don't know what you're talking about. My stick figures never look that good ;-)
