I actually wanted to write a bit more this week, but alas, I caught the worst flu I've experienced in at least 3 years and don't really feel up to the task right now. To put it briefly, I have started to work towards a new region on my continent, the mountain range to the north of the southern grasslands. The first step was to introduce a new animal: crystal whales. Similar to the more common oil whales (more on them some other day) they have organs that produce light, but instead of an oily substance, they grow large crystal plates on their backs, as well as, in the males, large tusks on both sides of their mouths. They are often hunted for these crystal plates and tusks, and I plan to make them the primary source of light in the large halls carved into the mountains of the, yet unnamed, region I want to build.
