Knight-Sorcerer Magic

Note: The term Knight-Sorcerer originates from the common misconception that this kind of magic relies on witchcraft and contracts with demons or evil spirits. This is due to the corruption of the practitioners body should they not be extremely careful.

Knight-Sorcerer Magic, often called Knight-Sorcery is a particularly primitive type of temporary enchantment-oriented spellcasting which uses the object to be enchantment as a conduit for simplistic magic circuits, including the body of the casting mage. This severely limits both the throughput and complexity of the spells, but at the same time makes casting of self-enchantments much easier and more intuitive.

A common fate of knight-sorcerers is the gradual destruction of their bodies as the continuous creation and destruction of magic circuits inside it cause a wide variety of symptoms, many of which are also common symptoms of radiation sickness.

The biggest obstacle however is the spellspace-interference* of the mages soulspace. This is mostly avoided by re-shaping the mages soul-space in early stages of the training, a concept introduced by Valéria of Áuria during the second half of the North-South-War.

While in theory this very similar to traditional spellcasting techniques, specially early ones like pyromancy, it is not commonly considered "magic", due mostly to secrecy and disinformation strategy of its practitioners. This effectively means that none of the ancient regulations on the use of magic apply to knight-sorcerers.
