By my count, this is the 499th weekly composition I've done since I started at the end of 2013 (for the 2014 Weekly Beats). I went into late Saturday with no ideas in mind, and started playing with a few altered chords, then responding to them, and then stitching it all together. There are four tracks of PureSalem Mendiola in standard tuning, and some convolution reverb.
The title comes from minor planet 499 Venusia.
Here's a track somewhere between the Walking Dead and Scoobidoo. It started like a normal electronic track and, somehow, some zombie samples made their way into the track, and it turned into full fledged Halloween track, a few months early.
Although I created this song in 2 relatively short sessions.. and I don't think it's perfect.. certainly could be better.. I really like it.
the core melody is pleasing to me, and I like how some of the background instruments play into it in parts and augment the emotion of it.
Work's has kept me super busy, so my music time feels pretty limited, but I am happy with this one.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for listening!
