A return to three tracks of guitar without heavy editing or effects, largely to test a new USB converter (Universal Audio Volt 1). There's some crunch on here, from the converter's preamp itself--it's a bit more musical than clipping on the Focusrite Scarlett. There's the usual convolution reverb and compression/eq on the stereo bus.
The title is from the minor planet 494 Virtus.
Another Protracker module this week.
Spending not enough time and ending up with only the backbone of a track seems to be a common thread for my tracks this year. I like this track, especially as it came alive once I added the rubbery lead. But I think it needs more work to be smoother, less "patch-worky" and get into a final form. I'll come back to this track!
It could honestly be too loud. I'm trying to go more off my ears than off the meters in the DAW.
I think this track is on the simpler side as far as composition goes, but I still like some of the patterns I came up with. Mostly with the "hi-hats" (noise channel).
I didn't have a super solid direction, I just found a cool sound and let it carry me until it's conclusion.
Hope you dig it! thanks for listening!
