@rain26 thanks! got past the worst of it now
@dwarph u said u felt like kiki vibes atm. good luck with ur personal burnout
@dwarph preferred your review of em
@dwarph the kiki movie i was like WTF IS A WITCH DOING DELIVERING BREAD. and then i was just thinking about 'why do witches even exist in japan' 'what stories do they have in japan about witches' had a nice ending
@dwarph :) idk i dont really have thoughts about them in interesting way
@dwarph but i liked both movies dont worry bout it fugettaboudit
@dwarph and then the kiki movie was i was like 'huh weird' the bike kind of flew for a second
@dwarph they hit me in the feels just was weird movies is all. like wtf story is that. two kids see a monster and then a kid gets lost and they find one kid. if was western movie, 23 cars blew up, the kid was actually donald trump, science does not exist.
@dwarph nah i liked em just australian
@rain26 idm if you didn't like em, just thought you'd find my perspective on them interesting ✌️ glad you enjoyed the ambiguity, love me some open ended storytelling
@dwarph just thought itd be funny to tear u down for it. i liked both shows. they both leave a lot open to ambiguity which i found interesting. i am very simple i like to feel pain
@dwarph yeah im joking a little bit. i found them both quite interesting intriguing. i like your review of them
they're definitely not everyone's cup of tea though
@rain26 the aesthetic is deffo a big part of it, but I think the imagination and peace they bring draws me to them. totoro captures the magic of childhood exploration so well, both in terms of the danger & curiosity!
kiki is just such a lovely film, and I love watching it through the lense of burnout. I think it captures the feeling of over exerting yourself and imploding, and having to relearn & refall in love with your craft
@dwarph i watched my neighbour totorro and the kiki witch movie now. i dont really get it. feels like watching wallpaper to me. interesting tho. so far from what i consider a movie id watch normally. japanese people must have a lot more inner peace than me
@dwarph oh cool. interesting ive known people with that last name haha
@rain26 street life one was a (quite rushed) holloway - ancient streets that were used so much that they're now quite far below ground level & full of a new kind of life :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunken_lane
reminds me of being in a open lane while on acid. i done that once. i love acid
the street life is a crazy vortex
