although i've heard or read the term a bunch of times, i haven't really paid attention to what a navmesh is until today. it looks like it solves a significant number of locomotive problems for a simple click-and-move RPG. i would tempted to explore it, but i know that the kind of movement tech i'm interested in having in Satellite is not unlike a 3D platformer — think Risk of Rain 2 — so i'll inevitably need a complicated physics-based movement system.

i gotta admit though, watching the tutorial for navmesh did put a little fear in me. for a moment it looked like it was about to blow most of the script writing i just did out of the water.
