It's been a pleasure y'all, this has given me the confidence I need to start making my own pixel art. Thank you all for the opportunity!

More submissions by William Moore for Game-dev courses for Beginners (14Day Streaks)

Time taken - 1 hour, 10 minutes (I think, forgot to check the time. Whenever my friends started playin blazblue!)

Thank you SO much for the feedback, it helped a ton! Comparing the two side by side, I can already tell a huge difference. I really appreciate the help. Going to keep on practicing as much as I can, and thank you so much for the course.

Time taken: 1 hour, 3 minutes

Was feeling a bit discouraged yesterday as I couldn't really see it coming together, but after spending time touching it up today I'm much happier with where this is at! I challenged myself to make the first 2 characters out of the exact same palette, and tweaked it to fit them both. I don't think it was really possible for the 3rd, but ah well. Struggled a lot with getting hands to look right in all 3 drawings.

Time taken: 1 hour, 45 minutes

I'm struggling to fit the designs of these characters into smaller sprites... they feel very busy to me, and it's giving me a lot of trouble. Kind of rushed the 3rd one cause I ran out of energy. Practice is practice, maybe I'll have better luck when rendering these.

Should've stuck with the simpler palette too, wish I could go back in time, woops!

Time taken: 1 hour, 7 minutes

Damn, this was a tough one. I feel like I rushed the last one a bit because I was getting pretty tired, but I put a lot of effort into this one.

I feel like I've got a mental block where I try not to use colors that are more than 1 "step" apart from touching in my palette, and it gives a constant gradient look which is visually uninteresting. Need to do some more experimenting for sure

Time taken: 37 minutes

I want to take some more time tomorrow to try and tweek my palettes more, but I've gotta submit now cause I need to get some shut-eye and the streak deadline is in 9 minutes haha.

Hue shifting red is strange, it seems like if you move the hue even slightly it loses that red feel. I went for something whacky on the final palette and I liked how it turned out, so I think I need to get more experimental and see what works for me. Excited for tomorrow's challenge, it looks really difficult haha

Time taken - 30 minutes

Once again too sleepy to type up a large description, but thank you again for the feedback!

Time taken: 28 minutes

I'm not quite sure how to gauge how far away the light source is here. I feel like I had em all filled out pretty quickly, but then went back and fiddled with a bunch of individual pixels for a while until I got it in a position where I was happy with it

Time spent: 35 minutes

A whole lot of "I think this is right..."

Please lemme know if stuff stands out as wrong to y'all

Time taken - 33 minutes

I would type more but I started this way too late and I'm very sleepy. 30 Minutes before the deadline, oops.

I probably should've messed around with the palettes more, but this one also gave me a good amount of time fiddling with tools in aseprite to do color swaps when not in palette mode, that was cool too

Time spent: 32 minutes

That first like in the guide about sticking to colors that are "dull" as a base was what I really needed to hear I feel. I've always had problems in the past with how things look, and I was trying too hard to get things to pop by just throwing more saturation at it.

Time taken: 1 hour, 2 minutes

I feel like the among us crewmate was actually a bit more of a challenge than I expected. He's got some very subtle curves so it took me longer to get it where I was happy with than I expected.

Time spent: 44 minutes

I spent some time experimenting with some of the shape tools as well and cleaning them up. Looking back on the first image I think I see a couple places I would make, but I could feel a few things clicking during this assignment.

Time taken: 40 minutes

It was pretty difficult for me to be working in a 32x32 canvas, never tried with such a small palette either.

The character is supposed to be Monkey King from dota 2
