I completely forgot to put together my final day graduation pic, but here it is! Adding the time together is crazy, I basically did work a whole hour each day.

It's really nice to be able to just be pushed to make something! I've not felt very inspired for a while and I'm very glad I made these. Shading and envisioning 3D shapes is the toughest part for me and I think I really got to explore getting better at those.

I focused mainly on the leftmost sprite today, as it has a lot of details. I prefer to work small and with a limited color palette, so there's always a struggle between using colors for shading or details. Hopefully it doesn't look too messy? The rightmost sprite is a simpler concept, but I still wanted to do something interesting. I wanted a really strange and ethereal shape, and still have it reflect light. Hopefully I'm beginning to capture that.

I laid down some pretty basic shapes and slopped in some place holder colors, and then made some palette ideas. It took me a while so I only colored in the middle sprites, I'll get to actually coloring the other two in the next revision.

I really struggled with this one. A combo of a palette this complex, multiple light sources, and kind of mentally making these figures 3D. I'm glad I tackled it of course, it was just really tough.

Just expanding on the palettes. I could perhaps broaden my light and darks of these palettes, I'm not used to making ones with this many colors. Excited to get to post my more rendered sprites over the weekend!

Work was rough yesterday and a missed another day, but I assure y'all I'm still determined! I made a few revisions based on the feedback others got in the video, and even if I didn't change much I do think it added a lot of improvement.

This one was pretty fun and challenging. The second body shape was a thinker. I was wondering if the body would still have light shining down on it, with the head just casting a shadow.

Light sources are always what I struggled with the most, so getting to practice this is nice. I put a drop shadow on the sphere but nothing else, I have a hard time quantifying those.

I wanted to keep the palettes natural and see how much I could change them

I been kinda sick this week so I oopsied and slept all day yesterday, this submission is a bit late. But I DO love making color palettes so this was a fun one.

Time: 32 minutes

I tried to keep them simple!

I hope I did it right! For the first two exercises I went over it in a slightly lighter color than the background so I could see what I changed.
