You can skip X and Z

'You can skip X and Z, but you get bonus points if you use them'. This is the recurring quote from nearly every alphabetical based word game. It's time X and Z fight back.

You can skip X and Z is a progressive word based fighting game where the player will fight their way through the alphabet in order to get revenge for the years of being purposely skipped in word games.

The player will play as both X and Z. They will have to fight through a ladder of the alphabet using only items that relate to their corresponding letter.
X, hailing from Chinese Xizang province has access to items like his sturdy battle xylophone, his X-ray vision, and his might similar to that of Xerxes the Great.
Z, one of the finest combatants of Zambia seals victory with her Zipper of hatred, her Zippo lighter, and her immense arsenal of Zirconium at her disposal.

The player will have to fight against increasingly difficult Letters in their home battlefield. The enemy letters will be using weapons that also correspond with their alphabetical heritage.

Platform:
PC, Console

Target Audience:
People who enjoy a humorous fighting game, and those who want revenge for all those years where X and Z have been underappreciated.

In this game you play as a renowned food critic who has just lost their sense of taste and smell in a terrible accident. Luckily, your loyal readership is unaware of the career threatening event, and so you may still be able to feign refined taste and expertise for the sake of your livelihood. In your unfortunate situation however, you will have to base your judgements on everything that isn't your experience of the food. When reviewing a restaurant, you will have to interpret the behaviour of the other patrons for an indication of the quality of the food, relying on their tastes now that yours is gone. If your reviews align with public opinion, your career may continue as if nothing ever happened, but if you misjudge what they experience and expect from you, you may find your job security evaporating. The gameplay will have the player sitting in a restaurant, ideally using with a VR headset, as they eat food that they are completely unable to taste or smell, while paying close attention to the experiences of those around them. Remember to take note every time a dish is sent back to the kitchen, and how much of any meal tends to go uneaten, and use this to infer how good the food might be. The player will then have to rate the restaurant, selecting between different possible options for specific criticisms and compliments, and then see how the public responds to your views.

Physics based, isometric perspective tower building game where you correctly stack different sized Catloafs.

85 year old Griselda has too many cats. Possibly one for each year she has been alive. They're getting pretty sick of it too and want to escape. You must help them by stacking them correctly as they fall from the top of the screen. The best way to assure a nice study tower is to vigorously pat them as they fall down, which promotes them to pop their tongue out in a gesture commonly referred to as a "blep". A catloaf with a "blep" will stick onto whatever cat the blep-tongue is in contact with, while a non-blepping catloaf will be a bit slippery. If not placed somewhere securely in the middle of the tower, non-blep catloafs will weaken the structure and send the tower of catloafs scattering. Stack the catloafs correctly with lots of secure blep-links in order to help them reach the window and escape Griselda.

DMCA is a point and clicks text adventure game about a guy who tries to upload or illegally share content online. In this game, the player must help the poor guy hide from the DMCA. At first, the player will need to help the guy find a proper web hosting service that is not in the US or the UK. Finding an offshore is not easy; there are scams and services with poor customer support. The player will need to intensively check each website's reliability before selecting the right one.

Finding a good hosting provider is still the early steps. To help his website remains anonymous, he can try to hide the website's real IP by using proxy services. Using a proxy, he can hide from DMCA for a while. This is not a permanent solution as the website's real IP can still be found with some simple hacks.

The DMCA will try to find him and shut down his website at all cost. If his website had been shut down, the player can try to help him restart his website again. However, the DMCA is not his only enemy. The FBI will also try tracking him down if his website becomes large enough. The player will need to help him escape if his real location has been found out.

Text based game with a twist. You have your DM who sets up the game like its in a room, with the story, encounters, NPCs, all with an in built app that they can use to check on characters at a tap of a button and update and add notes on. The players then join the room and make their own characters, and can use real dice to sort stats etc or use ingame digital dice. they then begin, with the DM setting the scene, they also choose the general sort of area, town, forest, underground, swamp etc which changes the color and background to match. the players then all get turns to cut in as the text scrolls through and do things, talk to someone attack something, look at something else, anything they want. The DM can then allow it or get them to roll dice to determine sucess or failure. If something changes the DM can note it in the relevant area and continue on. If they run into an encounter the DM can set up a grid and place enemies on it and the players will have their own avatars in and can then use their turn to move and act accordingly and fight like a normal DND game. To speed it up the DM could even record themselves talking instead of typing everything out for the story and the players can play it back to themselves when they have time to play. Would be a mix of TXT and text based game but also with visual cues to help with immersion, if they talktalk to someone then a villager may appear on their screen while they converse, or when they battle they can see the characters moving around

Lonely Scarecrow is a 2D top down game where you are a scare crow, not a mean decrepit one that scares birds or people but a nice one. In this game you must successfully befriend birds and people by offering snacks and compliments. As the levels progress, it becomes more difficult to interact with them. So, you must strategically rationalise your actions for maximum efficiency.

You being a scarecrow are placed in the centre of the screen, cannot move but can rotate 360 degrees. They will often sneer at you from a distance, most likely from behind you and will only approach you when they are out of your sight. Use this to your advantage by enticing them with snacks and compliments to distract them and build their confidence. When they are close enough you may engage with a DMC (deep meaning conversation), which will appear on screen as a time based question.

Successfully connecting with birds and people will earn you points and most importantly a new friend.

When pollution leaves the earth near uninhabitable and the wealthiest members of society have set out to live in spaceships, Human Assistance, Protection and Preservation™ units, or "HAPPs", are deployed to keep the remaining population in high spirits.

Summary

In this third-person open world game, you play as HAPP-3Y, who is the only unit left in the city years after they were initially created. You are programmed to do everything you can to ensure that humans remain safe and content despite their dystopian environment and its chaotic makeshift social structure.

Gameplay

The player, armed with a powerful recycling machine and cheesy artificial grin, must go about the city every day completing missions for humans. They can collect rubbish, debris and chemicals, and then use them to craft items including weapons to protect the humans from the mutated creatures that thrive in the pollution. HAPP-3Y can be upgraded with items that are found or given as rewards for completing missions. There is a population meter that indicates how many humans are living in the city. The higher it is, the more rewards will be received and the more missions will be available. Finding food, water, and shelter increases the quality of life and therefore the population. The goal is to ultimately create an environment where humanity can flourish as it once did.

"Bending time and space, a curious alien searches for life."

Worn is a first person puzzle adventure video game, set on Earth centuries after humanity abandoned it. An extraterrestrial explorer arrives on the now empty, lonely world, with hopes of finding those who came before or why they left. Exploring vast decaying structures and overgrown cities, the player harnesses the "Riftwave", unbelievably superior alien technology that allows the user to look through and visualise, in real time, what the world looked like in its prime. This feature is vital to the problem solving. For example, to find a passage, the player must use the Riftwave to locate where the key is, and where the key goes. Scanning through this handheld, brick-shaped device the player uses it as a lens to envision the once-illustrious environment. In essence, if one were to come into a room with a flipped table, the device will emit a feedback of it upright, and pristine; almost like a live portal into the past.

INTO THE DEPTHS is a dungeon crawler game for the PC platform. Players will be able to choose from a multitude of characters to enter the dungeon as a sole hero and reach the farthest, deepest level of the dungeon in order to rescue your comrades that were abducted by the demon king. Right from the start, players will be facing off against numerous enemies and each enemy will have its own attack pattern and ability that the game will generate on its own. This means that each individual enemy in each and every one of the 100 levels will have its own unique ability that may either be a variation of a previously encountered ability or a completely original one. This way players will not be able to depend on learning ability patterns and such in order to progress through the level. And also each level will be unique to each player, as the level design and level layout will also be randomly generated.

Players will start of with basic weapons and no abilities. They can only acquire new weapons by finding secrets, or discovering the hidden blacksmiths in the dungeon. It will be the same for abilities, players will have to discover the ones they want as the game will not teach them any skills. This will put an emphasis on exploring every nook and cranny of the dungeon.

A massively multiplayer online multiplayer game. The primary goal of the game is to introduce people of similar music tastes, allow people to create music that they want to hear, and benefit from it. Players open the app, which uses a pedometer to determine the speed of the beat your phone will play. Different musical genres can be chosen, and the randomly generated beat will begin to resemble music. However, the game reacts to other users in the vicinity, and their music, their beats, their speed. genre, and style of play will begin to link with yours, and you'll both begin to make music together, maybe without even meeting them. Music fades in and out as you walk around, syncing with those around you. The more players playing around you, the more complicated and interesting, as well as enjoyable, the music gets. Silent parties could be played with a crowd all using the app, and music can be recorded, uploaded, and sold/downloaded. Those who contributed to the creation of the song get a portion of the royalties, or they could be given out for free.

(This is a stretch for what qualifies as a game, probably)

In the year 2020 a large meteor hits earth. Fortunately it crashes into the ocean, (as predicted) making some great photos a tsunami warning and not much else. Left to settle in the depth a strange creature it harbours takes a liking to the water and begins to take over the sea using the water as its own body. Seemingly unstoppable it spreads through the sewerage and drinking water systems of cities. 5 years pass and having grown into ¼ of the earth's water the first deaths occur. Tentacles of water burst out of taps, toilets and shower nozzles looking for more water. It's unfortunate the human body contains a lot of it.

Single player first person shooter style. With half the world's population dead and the other half fleeing civilisation, you're on a mission to save your family, and the world, tracking down the meteor and destroying the brain at its core. The Player and a few npc sharing your goal must survive the travel possibly encountering these tentacle at every tap, fountain and pool connected to the water mains. Drinking water is limited to rain and players are equipped with freeze guns and heat guns as it's been discovered the being only controls waters liquid state.

A 2D puzzle game where you play as a squirrel making its way through some old ruins in a forest, on its way home with that day's collection of nuts. The squirrel can run and jump (quite high, but not so far) as well as spit out a nut from its stash. It can then pick it up said nut, drop it, or throw it.

Turns out the nuts are really useful for navigating through the crumbling buildings though- whether it be tossing one into a gap, jamming one into a hinge or hitting something to open up something else Rube Goldberg machine style. The aim is to get through the ruins in the most efficient fashion, using up the least amount of nuts. You need them for winter after all! Running out in the middle of the ruins would be a disaster too and will result in a game over.
