"..my mind... to your mind..."

Late to the party. Made this energetic track with an emphasis on sound design in a couple days aiming to make something polished and commercial sounding. I'm quite pleased with the result!

I dropped out of Weeklybeats suddenly even though I was going strong. But I am back at it. I hope to get a streak going and not lose it this time.

Thanks for listening!

@ferdi Thank you! The bass groove on the 4th bar of the main loop is clunky. It's got a chunky stab on the downbeat with something of a gap before it and I just left it at it that. The phrasing there could be better. Since this is a free track and not meant for the clubs, there is less going into the engineering side of things. If I were to rework it, it would be to make it more club friendly by cleaning up the stereo image which is somewhat all over the place. Probably the dynamics/harmonics would need to be reworked, too... the drums would need to hit harder... also, I might resample the free-running synths to find more melodic passages in the phasing/chorusing effects.

I would love to hear more! Feel free to post here, or you could hit me up on Discord sometime: @zoneclipper.

@Ashtom Thank you for the feedback! Indeed, there is all sorts of spacial effects going on... as mentioned, not having to worry about making it a club release means a lot more freedom with space and stereo width. Good ear, I sort of didn't really think of all this until now.

That's a banger! Thanks for sharing. I really like the atmosphere and the room/stereo feeling of the sounds. I would love to hear what you think about this, what things you would change if you were to work on it again or start from scratch etc. Just let me know! I'm also happy to provide more feedback if you're interested in that sort of thing - I try to make similar music, so I always like to train my ears by listening and providing feedback. cheers

Welcome here!
Nice submission with cool sounds.
It seems like you used different reverb types for different layers and it is very interesting.
It gives a sense of space that is not common in drum and bass tunes in general.

This beat brought you by Windex for ultimate streak free performance. Life was really hectic for a moment, sorry about the sporadic release schedule from me.

Drums are Addictive Drums 2 heavily tweaked and processed, synths are Korg M1 and bx_oberhausen. Guitars are Orange Tree Samples.

This is a weird, upbeat tune that's a throwback to a ubiquitous sci-fi sound. It kind of reminds me of an Earthbound battle theme, hence the title. I didn't start out with any such notion, the focus was on Theremin silliness.
