I decided to paint a cut garnet, because I've never done any artwork of gemstones before and thought it would be good practice. I used watercolour and gouache. I'm still learning how to use watercolours, but I thought the translucent effects they give would be good for the sparkly gemstone. It's not the best thing I've ever done, but it's ok and I feel like I learned from it, which is the main thing!

I've never drawn a cut stone because I'm too scared! They look really difficult. This is really good though, will you be doing cut stones for the rest of the streak?
Didn't have much time to work on this, but I still wanted to do something.
I think I will carry on with cut stones, they are really different from what I would normally do and I think it's good for me to get out of my comfort zone!
