The kids are sick... what a night!

Before long, they had their escort and were on the road again to the royal palace. They passed north of the village and turned a hill on the imperial highway. As the shrubs and hedges passed them, the capitol city appeared suddenly.
Built upon an extrusion of the earth, where in ancient times some cataclysm had thrust a single solid upwelling of granite from the burning depths of the deep underlands, many of the outer rings were carved from the living rock. Above these, vast towers of stone with many tiers of gabled roofs ascended toward the icy floors of heaven. The towers and walls were all quarried of the ancient megalith and were of a color with it, but large kites trailing banners and sprays of hanging gardens festooned the city, even to the upper towers and above, giving the sombre stone a festive over-garment.
The land between them and the city held many villages and manor houses in the capitol style. Oru knew that the vast majority of all Suura lived within this valley.
