The Hidden Passage

Concept Overview:

Survive.

Plot:

A divorced woman moves to the woods with her two children, an eleven year old boy named Nick and a nine year old girl named Sara, when it is given to her by her grandparents. As much as Nick hated the idea of moving and living far away from his friends, he took great interest in the house and began exploring. He uncovers a rusty dumbwaiter system and therein lies a dusty key. After wandering around the house, Nick soon discovers that the key he has found earlier unlocks a hidden passage which may lead to a secret room. After notifying his mother about his discovery, the mother made the case that this passageway may have been used by people to transfer goods from one place to another and that it is probably blocked now by large pebbles. She also suggested that Nick should never attempt to discover where this passage leads to after shutting the door and sealing it with several locks. Few days later, Nick's interest in the passage has grown tremendously and he taught himself how to pick locks so that he could unlock the door. Upon entering with just one bottle of water, a can of aerosol spray, and a flashlight, he soon finds himself stuck and unable to get out.

Setting:

An underground passage.

Game Mechanics:

Players start by playing as Nick, from a first person perspective, who is stuck in the tunnel that seems to be looping all around. Almost like a maze. Players have to find a way out before suffocating and avoid being bit by spiders and other venomous creatures that may be lurking in the underground passage. Players can make use of their spray can to remind themselves that they have already been in certain areas. The game resides in the survival genre.

Possible Platforms:

PC, MAC, PlayStation and Xbox.
