An iteration of a Milton Bradley original played on social media that raises the stakes by including a gambling mechanism, where each player places wagers.

Using your Facebook profile to log in, you are matched with a random player, where you bet with your Facebook friends - or more specifically, you BET your Facebook friends.

The value of each bet (friend) is calculated from how regularly you contact them, how long you've been FB friends, intimacy of interaction, etc. Wagers agreed to be made prior to each game and must be of equal value of both parties. From there a game of virtual Connect Four ensues. Played in a best-of-three tournament, the winner is declared at the end.

Penalty: The winner gets to choose from a range of actions of what they'd like to do with your lost bet on behalf of you:

  • Unfriend them;
  • Use your profile to make one single public post to theirs;
  • Poke them;
  • Make them their friend.

Every penalty is preceded with a post to your friend from the app, disclaiming that the unusual behavior of their friend is because you wagered their friendship on a game of Connect Four - and lost.

The concept of this game explores the narrative of public shaming, or the threat of your public persona being humiliated, as a motivator (in this case, to win a simple board game). As players get better, and get paired with stronger players, naturally leading to higher betting (and closer FB friend's being offered onto the chopping block), we (the player and world) discover the vale of their friendships - by betting them.

Platform: Social Media, mobile devices and desktop.
Target Audience: Teenagers 16 years or older. Sociopaths.
