Day 4/365

I've been rather tired since the new year started. I think I may end up having to take a small break very soon | PB

bwaha it's really unnerving staying in a hotel this long without a permanent home

In other news, trying to decide on some main character design for a story idea, leaning towards the last face

Can't wait to have a semipermanent address again.

Also conveyor belt sushi restaurant is the best (and most evilly ingenious) idea ever. I've already gone to two in the past two days. Are these the early signs of addiction?

I'll prob try something digitally drawn tomorrow.

My first entry! I'm terrible at drawing/pixeling but I'm going to get better

I have been doing much of my study work on two large newsprint pads I have lately. I have one I dedicate to dynamic drawing exercises (drawing straight lines and circles that touch them and one another) and hands and feet as well as the second which is for dynamic drawing exercises and a combination of anatomy study and basic form study. This week I am attempting to really get my box drawing skills down, in hopes of improving my Form and Construction skills.

I organize my art training by the specific drawing fundamental I am evaluating. They are as follows:

  • Proportion and Placement
  • Form and Construction
  • Perspective
  • Anatomy
  • Gesture
  • Composition
  • Value
  • Color Theory

2015-2016 were dedicated to the first six fundamentals, with Gesture and Anatomy being the ones I focused on most with my daily life drawings, warmup anatomy diagrams, warmdown copies of those diagrams and so on. Towards the middle of 2016 I started paying more attention to issues of perspective, mostly with exercises from drawabox.com. Today, I focused on drawing legs in varying poses and drawing boxes in perspective. Maybe this year I will be drawing more things in color? That'd be neat!

Finished! But what sort of shading style do you guys like?

Because I'm a massive nerd, have a D&D character.

Haven, my Tiefling druid, with her companion, a white squirrel named Snow

I was a bit lazy today and only played around in Photoshop with textures and such. Created this piece of abstract... whatever it is.

A WIP of a concept of a game I'm working on.

Have another WIP of that character I was working on and a doodle that took too long.
