Day 3 and more silk. Also re-skeined the Polwarth and wound more thread.

Wound the variegateds and the Coloris, filling one box.

Finished combing the BFL.

Skeined and washed the Polwarth yarn (tentative name: Alicorn Barf).

Predrafted and started spinning one of the silk gradients.

ONWARDS TO TDF

Rewound bobbins to be even, finished up mini skeins, spun the second alpaca single

ALL THE KNOTS. 120 of them I think? And some quality uneven trimming

Finished up the green yarn.

Tried out hackling with some of my hand-dyed commercial top: lots of waste, messy diz job but lovely results

Second coat looks like it'll be enough

Got the spinning wheel on Tuesday, spent most of Wednesday working on it

Nymphalidea is fun to knit and HORRENDOUS to block. Need better pins

First pass on the cap. Wonder if I should try to get it smooth or keep it rugged.

Last layer of resin is curing and the cap is painted.

Painted the frame. Color scheme turned out a bit minecraftey.

Couldn't do much today, but did varnish the frame. A few tips for using spray varnish:

1) Elbow-height gloves or similar if you have to hold your piece. A plastic bag can do.

2) No front-facing wind. Or, say, random gusts because you're doing this on a balcony towards an inner yard. Will avoid varnishing face, glasses, hair, arms. More seriously, don't breathe that stuff, and watch out for turning winds.

3) It says 30 centimeters away from the piece for a reason. If you hold it closer because you're bad at estimating distances, it will create puddles and dropplets that you'll have to clean up while fresh.

4) Masking tape is your friend.

Insomnia sucks, but I'm really happy with what I achieved here. Pattern taken from the runes around the main menu panel in the game. And it loops perfectly, which is SATISFYING as hell :D Next is a coat of varnish on the frame, and then I'll ship it to my little brother who claimed that one
