Sunday, Nov 12.
12:25 - 12:35. I'm probably going to be out all afternoon, so I'm going to try to crank out a drone track from nothing (no patches or anything) in a few live takes in about 20-25 minutes.
12:45 - 13:00. Resume and attempt to start recording.
13:00 - 13:15: Minor amounts of software post-processing: mostly adding EQ and some compression and a bit of light plate reverb.
So total time about 40 minutes. Not my shortest song ever… but it's an improv.
Didn't really have any idea what to do for this week, but at least I wanted to try something slow and a litte sad sounding with a little bit of ambience. Could not come up with any melodies to this, so that's the end result.
(tech notes soon)
Really having a hard time this past week or so getting back into music. Hopefully I can find my pace and muse again soon..
Just wrapped this one up a few minutes ago. Not really a song, more of an idea that got weirder the more I delved into it. Sort of lost my footing here... not remotely close to the idea I had in my head when I started...lol.
Quirky synth-hop?
So another ambient track, but in a minimal vein this time. I thought about doing a generative patch, but this was a simple tune that just sort of came together really quickly. Sketched it Live using built in instruments and then used outboard gear to print it to loops/scenes. I am really digging Roland's SE-02. It was used for all sounds in this track. Printing the poly sounds was a PIA, but worth it.
