Job-search stuff took up a lot of attention and energy this week, but I did carve out a bit of time to throw some drums together--Ableton's 32-pad jazz kit and their 64-pad Dub Techno kit, in the parts you hear in the middle section. Saturday night, I added some rhythm patterns (for beginning and end) and Epiphone Moderne with the output going only to a convolution reverb (with the Dan Harpole Cistern impulse). Then I added some sparse lead lines in another channel, and finally put down some Epiphone bass.

Sends: cistern convolution reverb, and one studio-sized convolution reverb, along with a tweaked Echo plugin. Auto-pan on the Dub Techno kit and guitars, and automation on the jazz kit for hitting the echo at the ends of phrases. Full-chain Master on the mix buss.

Title from the French name for the precipitate of barium sulfate, since barium (atomic number 56) is this week's element.

Kinda mellow little groovy jazzy thing form this morning. Nothing too outrageous ;D

Fell back into the chiptune vibe, and decided to make a quick one this week. Recorded the guitars myself straight in and used an amp designer and the rest is midi. (Maybe someday I will make an lsdj version.)

The name is an inside joke for a friend.

Smooth and mellow sounds this week. I'm working on another project that might take my time away from this but I should have a few more tunes soon.

Built around a chopped up sample of ambient sound effects from Dungeon Keeper (DOS).

went in a more ambient direction this week. several layers in fruityloops (Sytrus, Toxic, Drummaxx) then a splash of guitar/bass and some quick mixing in Ableton.

It's very sloppy and you should not look too closely, but here is my first liquid dnb track.

I wasn't going to submit this track this week but like most of the others it came about really fast. The strings give it a retro Detroit techno vibe but it kind of sounds like the old UK Tomorrows World theme Circa late 1970-80s. Probably as its done in a major pentatonic scale. I suppose if anything the drums could have a touch more drive in em.

Refined my last submission. The metaphor of this track is for the sea tides and ebbs slowly approaching and vanishing. Used smoother sinusoidal amplitude envelopes.

I don't know what this is. I don't even think I particularly like it, but I'm not gonna have much more time for this week and it was one of those days where everything sounds shit. I'm just glad to be done with this week!

I made this song on the plane with my iPhone in flight with noise cancelling headphones so I’m sure production will be dreadful when I actually hear it.
